Second one:
A greenish felted hat. I don't know the brand. No label in it and not readable on the inside of the crown. The leather sweatband tells me it's an England style Zephyr and handmade. Good proportions and nice felt.

I like this one a lot! Nice color, only seems to need a little cleaning and straightening and it would be a nice hat for casual events, gatherings of family and/or friends, and so on. Too bad it's on the wrong continent, and it's two sizes too small for my cabeza.

My $25 Champ hat arrived. I think I’ve finally found a brim that is too stingy even for me lol.

Thanks. Indeed it's a cool hat. I didn't use steam so far, only brush it.

Goodwill pickups...

I think I'm out about $31.50 for these four hats. The Scala Straw hat and the black "felt" hat fit me. The Resistol hard plastic/straw hat fits my wife. The black hat is hard as a rock. I'm not real big on the plastic coated straw hats, but I'm happy to have a couple cheap "cowboy hats" kicking around. I'm still in the market for a nice OR and a couple others at some point.

I gotta be honest though; this Scala Straw thing is one of my favorite hats lol - this is the first "cowboy hat" I've ever worn, and I love it. :) It's not hard like the Resistol.

Guess we will be starting a new leg of the "hearts and minds" campaign around here, starting with a couple mini-highland furballs to support my position. :D

This one was a pleasant surprise (in that I had forgotten it was coming). My 2nd new Portis, this one unlined with the logo embossed on the inside crown. A nice 2 5/8" brim and a 5" crown, as creased.

Portis made some great hats. I have a New Slant that looks to be a Whippet clone and is beautiful, great shape, great felt and sweatband. Definitely in the league of the Stetson it was competing with in my opinion. Nice catch Jeff!
