Forgot I bought this one, which is hard to believe with such a nice hat.
Borsalino Lunasca 39 1/2 in a brown colour called Palma. That is the first time we've seen this colour, so the sheer endless number of Borsalino colours hasn't reached the bottom yet. Size 59 with the raw edge brim at 7,2cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. Weighs 120 grams and was sold by Sools, Paris. It's a beauty. A bit of the shadow of the old crease can still be seen in the back.

This 5X Stetson Grizzly size 7 1/2 cleaned up nicely. It had a cheap rope hat band that was glued on but I was able to surgically remove it with an xacto knife and replace it with a snake skin. This should make a nice northwestern Montana high-country summer hat .

1950s Stetson 3X Beaver Quality Open Road. This was one of those "it's a size 7-5/8" where the size was the length measurement. It's actually a 7-1/4. The hat needs some cleaning and the "memorized" crease seems a bit offset to one side so I will have to threaten it with steam. Wish it fit me ...

This Feltly of (Brooklyn) New York Beaver Blend fedora came along with the Stetson. It's a size 7-1/8. It's a bit dirty and the un-reeded sweat band is hanging by a thread. Not sure of the age.

This cute little early 1960s (upper case logo on interior tag) Sears straw golf hat was part of a recent auction lot. I wish it fit @drmaxtejeda .

The foam padding instantly turned to orange dust.

Linney. I had low expectations and they were not exceeded. Deep flange on a 2 ¼” brim. The felt it thick and not particularly pleasant. It will take steam to get it to hold a shape. This will be a catch and release. I can believe that their older hats were nice, but this fairly new hat is not anything I’d want to have.

Long hair Borsalino with a 2 ½” wide brim with an overwelt edge. Size is 6 ½ Punti/French point or approximately 7 ½ US. The ribbon and the felt have some serious stains that are even worse than it looks in the photos.

This cap came in an auction lot. From what I can tell Sears dropped the Hercules branding for workwear in 1965. Pretty amazing how clean it has stayed all this time (some of the photos make it look dirty, but it is not). I fear for it as long as it hangs around here -- I just can't keep white hats clean. Anyone have an idea of the time-frame of this green Hercules label?

Stetson "Excellent" "Bloulevard" Made under License by Mayser Ulm, Especially Made for Hut Seidl München (Mayser Ulm's Flagship Store), date stamped 02/57 and 4. März 1958. Superb overall quality and workmanship as expected. Also in Excellent condition. Interesting that there are two date stamps. Mayser started licensing and making Stetson Hats in 1954.

This hat comes to us via the Great Fedora Lounge Hat Exchange from John @moehawk for a hat to be named later. It is an interesting hat that caught the eye of both John and myself as potentially being a Mac Lachlan store brand hat because of the size tag and for a few other features. In fact for me it really reminded me of a Mac store brand hat gifted to me some time back by Brent. Upon arrival we can confirm via the manufacturer’s tag that this hat is not in fact a Mac Lachlan… it is however a Caxton. I know some time back there was some discussion as to if there was any relation between Mac Lachlan and Caxton but I don’t remember there was any connection found. If not… There are definitely some similarities in components used by the two companies… maybe they shared a supplier on some items like size tags.. sweats. Ect.

On to this hat.. in stature and profile it very much to me looks similar to my Resistol Beaver 15 hats…. However the felt is a bit less thin and less dense with A decent hand to it that does shape easily. This The 2 5/8 brim is treated with a very unusual let’s call it embossed felted edge. Where they created a pressed in faux Cavanagh edge that is raised on the top by embossing the bottom of the brim. I think I remember someone discussing a similar edge on tier hat recently… but this is the first I remember seeing. The two inch grosgrain ribbon is a a bit of a color shifter…. In daylight black cherry to brownish… indoor.. black to almost bluish. The liner tip is the oil skin variety… along with a taller than sweatband oil skin sweat protector And The sweatband leather appears to be of high quality and great condition. For all of the above.. I’m happy and grateful to have this one in the collection. Now to turn over some stones to find something real nice for John in a 7 1/4. Thank you Johh.
