Thanks, Steve!Like you, Randall, I too have a penchant for Adam and Resistol hats.
That one is a beauty!
Can’t beat
Stratting around town in a new hat!

Thanks , Joe!That is one minty looking Resistol, Randall.
It’s a policy that I plan to implement first thing in the next….year or 5. ;-)That’s a fine looking hat Randall. Definitely understand the “get one, sell one.”
If you price creatively, you can say you are “selling” but still hang on to them. It’s a policy that I plan to implement first thing in the next….year or 5. ;-)
I like the color, SteveMy first hat of 2023. Its been a very dry two months hat-wise.
Thankfully, this very new Stetson Stratoliner turned up. Seller says he bought it in 2018 at Cable Car Clothiers in San Francisco.

Wallnut colour. The brim is 6.5cm (2.5 inches) and crown height 10cm (4 inches)

The felt is quite dense, probably too much so for a Stratoliner.
The brim binding nicely matches the thin ribbon and bow.

Factory looking tear drop crease.

Very soft sweatband, which makes it a very comfortable hat to wear.
View attachment 492703
Poor printing on the sweat, which sadly seems to be normal for modern hats.

All in all though, I'm very satisfied with this one, especially as it fits nicely. It will do well until a vintage Strat turns up at a reasonable price.
Excellent finds, Bob. They look brand new!Just unboxed. True colors are black and gray. I’m still on the hunt for a tan one.

Superb, Matt. Exciting every time to see new models or colours showing up.Already shown in the "What hat are you wearing today" - here it is:
Borsalino "Gigiasgu" (never seen) in middle grey "Nizza"
for the German market: sold at Josef Hermann, München
felt matching brim binding + contrasting, frayed crown ribbon
size 6 Punti on the separate size stamp next to the label
brim 5,5 cm; ribbon 4,8 cm; crown 11,5 cm dent/14,5 cm open
Very nice, Jack. Tough to get a good pic of those black hole hats, sheen or no.Optimo Melusine long hair beaver.
This first pic is just after I pushed open the crown & had not yet ironed it back to round. And I was trying to get the proper camera exposure for the melusine sheen.

The melusine long hair beaver is blacker than black indoors & the only way to photograph the sheen is outdoors in natural sunlight. The sheen sort of turns a dark silver & the long beaver hair becomes more obvious. Reminds me of a seal in & out of the water.
Still showing a few drips of water here & there. I may play more with the crease in the coming days.

Beautiful hat, Randall. Resistol sure knew how to make them.NOS 3X Resistol OR type.
I bought this hat because I don’t have enough Resistols (and likely never will) its as new condition, its original crease style, but mostly because in the seller’s eBay pics it looked dove gray.
Which, it kinda looks a bit gray even in some pics I’ve taken, but in daylight it’s the typical early 60s Silverbelly color.
Compared to my usual OR spendings, I shelled out waaay too much on this hat at $224. To make up for the overage I’ll have to sell one of the “too many Stetson silverbelly ORs” taking up diminishing wall space. Y’all know what I mean. Cool find, Steve. Can't help but notice the brim break isn't that pronounced, or is that just the angle of the pic?My first hat of 2023. Its been a very dry two months hat-wise.

Absolutely right, Stefan. The brim break is not that well pronounced at all.Cool find, Steve. Can't help but notice the brim break isn't that pronounced, or is that just the angle of the pic?
Thanks Stefan!Lovely find, Marcel. Beautiful ribbon treatment as well.
I have become a devotee of the smaller brimmed hats, so 5cm (just under 2") looks just right to me these days. If I were to design a hat for myself and this was suggested, the only change I would make (other than size) would be to remove the taper from the crown so that I'd have fewer difficulties fitting it onto my apparently enormous head. Nice hat!Barbisio Daino fedora. Size 59 with the overwelt brim at 5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent...Could've used some more generous proportions.

Lovely ribbon treatment
Thank you both very much. The felt of Peschel is great. Lovely proportions, so i am happy. I didn't want to buy another black hat, but this one was hard to let goJust seen your post, Marcel. Nice catch!
You can't go wrong with a Peschel. The proof must be in the fact that they're hard to come by.
Great shape and, as others have mentioned, that ribbon and bow treatment is very nice indeed. Icing on the cake!
Congrats.
And you were wise in not letting it go!Thank you both very much. The felt of Peschel is great. Lovely proportions, so i am happy. I didn't want to buy another black hat, but this one was hard to let go
