I tell my wife...."I collect hats, not wives......be thankful for that much"My wife is shockingly tolerant of my new hobby. She must think they look good on me or at least ok She will raise an eyebrow or maybe give me a little frown if she thinks my purchases are getting out of hand, but I do have a new Stetson Lamont headed my way soon so we will see how that looks.

So, she hasn't seen what's in your base...ment...uhh, never mind.I tell my wife...."I collect hats, not wives......be thankful for that much"
Hats off to Brent @deadlyhandsome for this deadliest and handsomest of lids. A spectacular and very Whippet-like Royal Stetson in a light brown color that begins to fill a gaping void on my mostly gray hat rack. This hat is going to see a lot of head time. Thank you Brent!

Wonderful hat and great find, Steve. That liner is next level. And lucky that it seems to fit you!Wilhelm Pless Wien "Extra Qualität", 57 cm, possibly late 1920s early 1930s. This a really beautiful Stiff Felt and in near mint condition. This is my first Wilhelm Pless Wien so a rare find. The only other WPW is a Silk Top Hat found by Robert (RLK). It's possible the Felt is Beaver because it's very dense but could be a blend. The liner is really fantastic. The color (not sure what to call it plus color changes) and company mark are striking. The contrasting sweatband with gold embossed company mark are great too.
I have another beautiful Stiff Felt from the same store Ludwig Skrivanek Graz.

Beautiful hat. Not a brand that comes around often.Dermotta Wien, 57 cm, possibly late 1950s. High quality Black Felt that easily dry creases and has a soft Hand. Classic Homburg form with a slightly offset Bow.
Open Crown
Natural Light
Give it some time: you'll get better at sneaking them in! Lovely hat.Is it bad that I’ve had this for a week and just opened it because I had to hide it from my wife with the Christmas presents?

Wellll, I have a few hats that would merit a night or two of the cold shoulderCan I add that no piece of felt is worth marital strife. I really enjoy my hats, but in the final analysis they don’t mean a darn thing.
Will do. Nice hat, John. Good to see you posting!Hey all!
There's more of this Adam in the ADAM ALLEY thread!

Check it out!
Good looking hat, Brent. Nice find.Herbert Johnson 62cm in charcoal gray. The color reminds me of Akubra’s carbon gray. The open crown is 5 1/2” and the brim is dimensional: 2 7/8” front and back and 2 5/8” on the sides. Very nice felt for not being vintage.

Stefan, Thanks! It's a bit round so it needs a little tweaking.Wonderful hat and great find, Steve. That liner is next level. And lucky that it seems to fit you!
Stefan, Thank you! I occasionally come across Homburg Hats from this general time frame. I would like to find an old Dermotta Wien.Beautiful hat. Not a brand that comes around often.
Brüder Böhm Wien "Derby", 58cm / FP 6, possibly late 1920s early 1930s. I think this is Fur Felt but it could be a Fur - Wool mix. It has a very nice Finish and soft Hand. The overall condition is excellent which is major bonus. This Stiff Felt was made for the Copenhagen Depart Store "Crome & Goldschmidt A / S. City".
"Crome & Goldschmidt City" post card, the stamp is cancelled August 1st 1928.
Steve, Thank you! This one has been out there for a while but I just decided to go for it. It was a bit costly because of the postage. The seller was in Sweden.Interesting find, Steve. Congrats.
Very nice looking hat. Gives the impression of a bit wider brim.My first modern Stetson showed up today, a Stetson Lamont in sage. The felt has nice feel and I like the proportions with the 2 1/8" brim. Only odd thing is that the box says Royal Deluxe but the sweatband says Royal Stetson, the serial number on the box matches the number on the tag. New never worn condition.
