Long hair Hückel Chasidko Super: most likely made for the religious market. I reshaped the brim and the hat has a quasi gambler look now. The felt is very firm, but stiffer than a fedora or homburg would be. The long trailing edge if the bow ribbon is odd.

Royal De Luxe Stetson St Regis Homburg

Royal De Luxe Stetson St Regis Homburg
5 1/2 crown
1 3/4 black grosgrain ribbon
2 3/8 - 2 1/4 dimensional brim to curl with 1/2 grey grosgrain binding

Ive had my eye out for a St Regis for while. This one arrived a bit wonky at the base of the crown. So I set out with a nice boiling pot and got to work. I think it shaped up nicely. I’m not sure what cause the misshapen crown. Could have been a slight shrinking of the sweat.. but I don’t think so as the size seemed fine. In the end... I’m gonna go with. Stacking... as the culprit for the weird shape. Seems as plausible a reason as any. But whatever the reason. It’s mostly gone now.

My disappointingly too small Stetson Vita-Felt Playboy. I received this OPA era hat a couple weeks ago, but I’ve been rather busy lately. Far from perfect condition, but I really like the hat.

It really is a cool hat Brent. Too bad the size didn’t work out.

Just picked this one up for a daily wear type hat. Not sure what style it is and it is probably not a high end hat to begin with. The material is probably a felt of some sort, but it is clean and just needs a really good blocking and reforming. Well, another project.....

Malloy made a great hat...as well as some not-so-great hats. Yours looks like the former! Good snag!

I take it you don't like green eggs and ham either, Steur-I-Am?
WOULD YOU EAT THEM IN A BOX?
WOULD YOU EAT THEM WITH A FOX?
That went completely over my head, Max. Dr. Seuss never caught on this side of the Atlantic.
I stick with my assessment of green. Greens are difficult to combine with other colours. "Blue and green should never be seen" isn't a saying for nothing. We have a similar saying in Dutch, but it mentions red as the colour not be combined with green. Greens only seem to do well with other greens. So unless you want to be a forester or a leprechaun they are to be avoided;)

The hat does have some nice proportions. Glad I scored one.

A box full of goodies came in last week, but the sun only returned yesterday. We didn't used to be that far north; climate change maybe?:)
I'll start off with this nice Saks hat in grey, a colour called dawn. Size 56, with the improved cavanagh edge brim at 5cm and the crown at 9,5cm at the center dent. Cushion-Aire sweatband and a lovely liner inside of it. The improved Cavanagh edge looks great is narrower and has a smooth transition to the rest of the brim. As far as I know Saks hats were made by Knox and the label seems to support it. The Cushion-Aire has me doubting though. Was that something Knox used?
Not a cheapie at $25 back in the day.

Fellow lounger Randy @Rmccamey found this Mallory bowler, but it didn't fit him. He was very kind and generous to send it to me. Even though in theory this would be a size too large for me, it actually fits me like a custom. Wonderful bowler hat.
Mallory cravanette bowler in a size 7 1/8 (57), unlined, with the brim at 5cm and the crown at approx. 12cm. It weighs 131 grams. Thanks Randy!

Superior silk top hat in a size 59 (7 3/8 American). Brim at 5cm and crown 14,5cm. Silk hats in larger size are extremely difficult to find. So if one comes along that is not the price of a second hand car I try to buy it. This one came with the box it was sold in as well.

Molto bello! In distant years, with the imagination in power, it would have been a must;)
We had a theater costume rental that we used for hangouts and more:rolleyes:
They had a very impressive collection of hats, who knows where it went
