That's one mighty fine hat you've caught there, Max. Fabulous.

Amazing that your daughter manages not to look more embarassed. You did have to hang on to her for the picture it seems though:)

Another nice find, Max. I like the look of these vintage pugs a lot.

Fantastic hat and the workmanship is stunning.

For me that has to be the winner. Incredible vintage homburg. Love it. Feels like Christmas, o wait...

This hat was a gift from my relatives in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and is made with the Cape Breton tartan pattern (I think the particular shade of green is just a touch too light but the pattern is correct). I must have hundreds of relatives out there, and I’m thrilled to have this.

The cut is not one I’ve seen before, and it’s a little bizarre, but I hope to break it in to wearable. Now I just need a matching kilt and set of bagpipes.

Great hat Jeff. My wife and I were in NS and Cape Breton over 20 years ago. Her gggrandmother was a Campbell from there. Lots of great musicians/music out there too. I have a tie in that tartan.

There are Campbells everywhere in Nova Scotia. I come from the New Glasgow area and my grandmother is also from the Campbell family. It's always fun to see NS connections making the rounds on the internet

That’s amazing, Perry!
I have a lot of wonderful childhood memories from there, but it’s been probably 25 years since I’ve made it out.
I love the Cape Breton fiddling style, totally unique from other Irish and Scottish feel.
We are the Hanna’s on my mother’s side. My grandfather had a cabin out on the coast, but it has long since been sold.

Yeah, Campbells and McDonalds out there are like Smith and Jones here.

Rare (for me) vintage Lord's hat manufactured by Palco Hats So. Norwalk CT. There is a thread regarding a brief history of Palco Hats in The Lounge. From my understanding, Palco manufactured hats for this store - and I would imagine other mens haberdasheries - in the U.S. What's unique to me about this piece is the fact brim is wider than I've witnessed on a Lord's Hat.. I have another where the brim out to curl is at most 2 1/8 in. Anyway, the felt on this piece is fantastic and will need an adjustment as it has not been worn in a long minute. Here now a few pics...

My new Hufvud hat is ready. Based on the 'Bogart' style with the original Hufvud style :) With a litlle contrast detail in gold on the black bow.
I think Mikael did the job very well.

Nice one Marcel. With straight block crowns I usually go for center dent or teardrop creases, it makes the hat less boxy than diamond. I think Bogart wore a #51 block (some taper) or something. Is the brim finished with overwelt or just raw ?

Bogart likely wore what the prop department or the hat reps from his endorsements gave him. I doubt he could have told you the block number if you threatened his life.

#51 and #52 are about as straight as they get. All blocks have some taper or you'd never get the felt off!

Haha, he wore whatever they gave him in style though :)

Indeed some taper in all, in my perception though Mikael's block is more straight than other custom #52 blocks I have. I am always wondering how did bowlers and toppers came off the blocks back in the days ?

The Hat Shapers “straight sided dome” block doesn’t have any taper and it’s a bear to get the felt to release. In fact, I’ve distorted felt trying to push it off the block. I know Terry uses his a lot, but I’ve never asked him how he does it.

Then there’s this:
