Leinnen Peuch from France in a mid grey, dense felt. I gave it a steam, brush and centre dent.

4.5 inches to the pinch
2 inch brim
2-1/8 inch ribbon

Unfortunately, it is a European 7-1/8, 5.5 punti or a US 7-1/4 which is slightly too big. Debating whether to keep... not sure of the age, perhaps 40’s?

That is a gobsmackingly beautiful hat, Christophe. Pity it doesn't fit you (or me!). I would hang on to that one until you've found someone to take really good care of it.

Yes, that brim treatment certainly does stand out.
Interestingly, my Flagship has a very similar looking stitched edge, but half the width and an underwelt.

Thank you! It’s tricky as I want to keep it but it really is a little too big. I am exploring with foam under the sweat and will seek Counsel from you and fellow Loungers!

Sometimes the gods of hats are against us. I find it best to let go of a hat that doesn't fit me, as it frustrates the s%^&t out of me to not be able to wear a great hat. The only thing to do is find a new custodian for it. I admit though there are a couple of hats I just can't bring myself to letting go (yet).

Michael Gannon's The Highwayman

I want to get pics in better lighting before posting my new Gannon in Michael's thread. It is really a beautiful hat in natural beaver. But here it is right after arriving today.

This pic actually shows the overall shape best but the natural light was coming in at my back & I was blocking it, causing the exposure to be too gray.

So I posed the hat up on top of the cabinet but I was still blocking some of the natural light & getting shadows.

Better pics & more detail to come to the Gannon thread later, perhaps over the weekend.
