this trolley on one of my Borsalinos is fixed as well.... factory ?

the button is fixed and the chord goes around the crown then wraps the button ... looks like it has never been unwrapped from the button... never seen anything like it

Factory, I believe - just a slight variation on the theme. The sewn in button becomes a place to stow the loop at the end of the string. The loop can be disengaged from the button on the hat and attach to a button on a jacket.

Keeping with the black theme of the day...my Mallory Derby from the Titanic showed up today. This Mallory has the later date in the logo (more research is needed as to the style) and is in excellent condition. Under the sweat was a sheet of paper for sizing, but alas, it was blank! No markings on the inside of the near perfect sweat. Cloth size tag. Since it has the 1823 date, that gives me a start on dating. Nice for $35 and being a relic of the Titanic(? weird listing category).

Panizza "Zeffiro" color "Nocciola" probably dated 50s

Medium stiff felt

Lobbia Borsalino color "Bronze" sold in Naples in the 1950s

Soft felt

DeMonte - Gran Marca the most unknown amongst the three, built perhaps for a shop of Omegna 20 kilometers from Ghiffa and Intra capitals of the hats on Lake Maggiore

Very soft felt

All sizes between 56 - 57
Of course Stefan will make a detailed photographic reportage of new arrivals from Italy
They part of a European exchange between South to North and viceversa

The weird Ebay category, "White Star & Titanic". I picked it up for a song, no body bidding against me. I wish it was from 1912, I suspect it was minted some 3 decades later.
