Dobbs West 5x , not sure how to describe the color sort of a beige grey yellow with silver green ribbon. Hat was a 1/4 that I refitted to 1/2 by adding new sweat. Left liner out as this is going to be my summer wearer . Felt is like a Borsalino Alessandria.

Found the Dobbs Twenty in my avatar in an antique shop this past Saturday. It only took me a year and a half to find a fedora in the wild that wasn't moth eaten, torn, small enough to fit an 8 year old, or all of the above. This beauty was sitting there patiently waiting for me to find it and take it home, and the fee for admission was only $40!:eusa_clap

Haven't figured out how to post photos yet...

A rollable Knox Vagabond "Miracle Felt" from eBay, more of which is posted in the Society of Vagabonds thread.

It has the softest felt I've ever seen, and it weighs only 2.7 ounces, but it's a bit too snug on my head, though I'm considering stretching it.

Thought I'd actually post a couple of pics, since I discovered the lounge is on Tapatalk! That way I don't have to pay another forty for Alanfgag!

Hey Bill, the color of the hat is bone. 5 3\4 open crown, 2 5\8s brim, navy ribbon with a
light peach inset in the keeper [the colors my daughter is using in her wedding].

It's a winner of a hat! Waiting for the full layout in the Buckaroo Hatter thread. The pouncing looks very well done. You'll have to share all the details of the making.

Looks to be in NOS condition with just a bit of discoloration in the felt. The sweatband is supple and feels like it's brand new.
Full 3" brim.

Case, sure does look to be in perfect shape, especially without the cattlemens crease.

I picked up this little number which arrived today (I've never used ebay before and I just need this hat). Was listed as a vintage fedora-but surprise!-it's what I've been wanting...a homburg. Williams and Co. Victoria Street London
Original ebay shot. Was stuffed in a box that was too small. No size but measured my size and I took a chance on it.

Popped out.

Sweat

Steam made the cheeks a little red.

Really a clean and well preserved vintage hat which fits like a glove.

...and I can see me now...

That's a great hat, Monte!! It's nice to get the hat you've been wanting. I can see you walking down Jermyn St. You really turned that hat around and made it work. So it fits okay now?

Thanks for the positive comments. It really fits perfectly...better than most I own and way better than my custom made, turtle shell-like excuse for a hat. I didn't mention the felt on the Williams but it is nice and soft and allowed me to steam the kinks out well. I was also nervous 'cause my internet goes out every 5 min's but I still won in the end.
Take care and stay well hatted.

Still shaping the homburg a bit...they definitely want to curl up. It's cooling down on my head this time before it goes back in the box.

once you get that brim back to being a good homburg brim, you will have a SCORE on your head!! Great looking hat! I will guesstimate, and say it could be pre-40's, due to how the sweatband logos are embossed.
