lol It's a German expression. The nearest English language counterpart I know of would probably be "You've been dropped on your head as a baby!"

Someone's been 'bathed too hot as a kid' if he/she is acting daft.

In good old - and time appropriate! - Berlin vernacular: "Dir hamm se woll als Kind zu heiß jebadet!" :D

Wieder Das Bumpen :p

Berliner Luft
Composed in 1899 by Paul Lincke for the operetta Frau Luna.

There's so many versions of this song that again it was a toss up as to which one was the best in my opinion.

Seiji Ozawa and the Berlin Philharmonic

Das ist die Berliner Luft, Luft, Luft,
So mit ihrem holden Duft, Duft, Duft,
Das ist die Berliner Luft, Luft, Luft,
So mit ihrem holden Duft, Duft, Duft
Wo nur selten was verpufft, pufft, pufft,
In dem Duft, Duft, Duft,
Dieser Luft, Luft, Luft.
Das macht die Berliner Luft!

(Translation)
That's the Berliner air, air, air
With its lovely scent, scent, scent
That's the Berliner air, air, air
With its lovely scent, scent, scent
Which seldom fizzles with a puff, puff, puff
This air, air, air
That what makes the Berliner air

Our County Fair started last week and runs till August 12. Then in September it's the L.A. County Fair, the largest county fair in North America. What's really funny is that the Riverside County Fair is held in February because it's way too hot in the summer out there. lol

If you like Pochod (Polka), how about an Oberek (Rheinlander)?

Having been raised in Cleveland, every Sunday afternoon I watched Polka Varieties, which featured Hank Haller, Johnny Pecon,
Frankie Yankovic, Walter Ostenek, Joey Miskulin, Lou Trebar, Johnny Vadnal, Larry Duchow, Jerry Mazanec, and all of the other greats.

Larry Duchow:

How about italian "Val-Taro" music?

"Philhomena" Del Grosso and "Scudlein" Brugnoli's music practically formed the sound-track of my aunt's neighborhood in Astoria, which had "gone Italian" in the 1930's, and remained so until a great influx of Greeks back in the 1960's.

I'm fairly sure I have this among my vinyls.

Got some greats on there, the Six Fat Dutchmen, Myron Floren, of Lawrence Welk Show Fame, and my favorite polka player of all time, Frankie Yankovic!

If you like Yankovic you'll love his teacher, Matt Hoyer.
