wow...I'm glad I found this thread...was curious what it looked like on someone and I may end up buying this style for my husband! What a great looking hat!

Here's what a Mid-Brown Stylemaster ( stocked by John Helmer in Portland, OR. : http://johnhelmer.com/level.itml/icOid/806 ) . He also has it in a Green as well. DM only carries it in the Dark Charcoal Grey ( which some here claim is Black, but that is one of those subjective interpritation things, color perceptions. )

I have been looking at that one as well. I've heard that Beaver Brand Hats are supposed to be decent.

yes! Thank you for the photo in brown...I was looking for a brown or a medium grey...I am bummed they only have one color on DM, though.

The Stylemaster turned out to be a terrible hat for me. Way too little crown room which made the hat sit on top of my head with no space. Left it out by the trash containers and somebody got a good deal. I like Akubra and have several but my noggin makes me buy taller crown hats which is a shame because it limits what works for me.

Yes - by no means a reflection on the hat. I am currently stationed in Germany and the trash collection area is 3-ways enclosed and serves multiple homes. It is also located on the street with the opening facing the street. Unlike many places in the US, all the containers match and it is a tidy area. If I have something to get rid of, I will put it out on top of my can. Things are gone usually in a matter of one hour. I am sure it went to a good home or will end up in one.
