I have never seen a jacket with these toggles, i really like it!

I thought this might have been an original WW2 issue at first, but then I noticed it has no pockets. Possibly a post-war commercial rerun of a D1, pockets omitted to keep down the price?

Interestingly, it looks like thereshould have been a zip, but I can't quite tell from the photo whether it has been sewn up just without thezip and these toggles added, or if they were a later addition to replace a broken zipper that was removed. It's the sort of thing I could see being done as a fix by someone with access to the right tools and who thought "Ain't no zip going to fail me again on this jacket!"

last time I had an idea to put on twist lock on my jacket, but here I got some comments about how it was not a good idea.... now this made me think what if....:(

This jacket is on my wishlist for the next winter ;-)
I'm considering having them customized for me.

Maybe. O'Connell's in Buffalo have sold a French goat Baracuta style for a few years.

I live just a few miles from them. Its an interesting store to be sure. I sometimes get odd stares from the employees there. In my 15oz jeans, black work boots, vintage band shirt and classic black leather jackets. I think they think Im going to steal something. But in reality its like no no, it takes hundreds maybe even thousands of dollars to get this look. Ill be one of your biggest spenders haha.
