I have a belief, in the Jungian sense, that our purpose in this life is to become conscious. By that I mean the practical application of our conscious mind in recognizing our past, exorcizing those ghosts from our past that haunt us and in the doing become cognizant of our patterns and begin to make different choices. In this process we can begin to free ourselves from the shackles of our childhood our parents and our family history. It aint't easy work and the gains are incremental but the rewards are huge.

Your life is like a sweater. It gets kind of tatty and threadbare the older it gets, but if you pull at the loose threads, you risk it falling apart.

I wouldn't change my life even if I could. The person I am today is the sum total of all my experiences, positive and negative. If I undid any of those past experiences I'd be someone else.

I think about this all the time. I am unquestionably the sum of all that has happened to me: the good, the bad, the neutral, the jobs, the girlfriends, friends, enemies, crazy stuff that happens and day-to-day regularity stuff - it has all changed me in some way and has made me - for better or worse - who I am. Change any of that, and I am not me anymore. Maybe I'd be better or maybe worse, but I wouldn't be me and I, despite the many imperfections and the scars and bruises I've acquired along the way, like who I am and wouldn't risk another outcome.

" To be or not to be, that is the question" ....Are we merely products of our enviroment or are we as we wish to be. ?

And that being so, a low-empathetic civilization cannot sustain itself. Eventually it'll be reduced to eating its own young and slaughtering its own neighbors. Dystopia.

Thats what the culture of consumeristic driven social memes is fostering; Coupled with desensitizing people to immorality, as a smoke and mirrors to further desensitize any critical analysis to important life and social matters.
