1930s Cartoon Music

Phantom Dancer Highlights

Phantom Dancer Tuesday 3 June 12 noon - 1:30pm
A listener who grew up with Merrie Melodies cartoons in the 1970s sets the highlights for this week's Phantom Dancer. He's asked for the Merrie Melodies' theme tune "The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down' and any other cartoon music. So today's Phantom Dancer will open with a bracket of cartoon songs from live 1930s radio broadcasts and radio transcriptions, including 'The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down' , 'I Like to Sing-a', 'The Old Man of the Mountain' (Betty Boop) and 'Powerhouse' (Bugs Bunny, Ren & Stimpy and many more). Presented by Greg Poppleton since 1985. CBAA Best Music Show 2007. Enjoy!
