Perfect Panama Grade for Summer?

Hello. I was thinking of getting myself a Panama of some sort for the hotter months, but was unsure of what grade to buy.

I've heard it mentioned that the better grades often don't breathe aswell as the others, but I'm not sure how keen I'd be to go with the cheapest either.

What would you gentleman recommend for a humid summer?

Regards,

Matt

Re: Panama grades

Well, it's been sweltering here for months, and I have a couple of Biltmores (one actually a Miller) and I think they have been ID'ed as Brisa Cuenca... they are super in the soggy heat. I swear its ten degrees cooler under the hat in full sun. That said, I have never had the finer grades, so I can't speak to that, but they do look far more like a fine fabric tho', so you may be on to something.

regards,

Rick

I have them from 2000 plus wpsi down to say 300 wpsi. I like them all. The middle of the road say 500 to 800 wpsi makes a really cool hat... Not to fine and will last a lifetime...:)

Talk to Robert Weber he will help you get the best hat for your needs and budget.

If I happen to be passing through that part of Florida, (which is almost never,) can I see that 2000 wpsi hat? I know how nice my hat is, and it's impressed a few connoisseurs of nice things. Now I want to see what the really nice ones look like.
