Panama Hats

While looking through more of an old costume collection we had I found 2 distressed looking panamas.
Any short cuts to trying to bring them back to life. Maybe a better question is are they worth it.

These are both in the 7 1/8 size .

These are both in the 7 1/8 size .
Only you get to decide if they are worth the effort. New sweat band, steaming and a blocking. Then they will need to be flanged again. The one with the tear cannot be restored but I would repair it by glueing in a piece of grosgrain ribbon in a matching colour inside the hat. Perhaps a little more glue to put the broken straw fibres back in place . It will hide the tear to a degree and at least stop it from worsening. I would charge about $100 each to restore them
