Nice.I got this one from a fellow Lounger about a year ago. I believe it's from the mid-30's, but I'm not certain. I don't know anything about the company Fashion Towers.

That's nice. I tried on a hat in just such a style but I found it didn't suit the shape of my head - made it look very long and tall.
Here's a quick picture of my lovely new Pachacuti:
The inside pictures show "Fine Weave," but their site lists a Fine Brisa weave and a (slightly more expensive) Fine Llano weave. Do you know which yours is? Thanks, and very nice hat. I agree with FedOregon though that just because some Panamas can be rolled, doesn't mean it's a good idea (especially repeatedly or for a long period).
So, now you are our pipeline to fine straw? It's been awhile since I looked at pictures from our first trip to Ecuador. We spent a couple days in Cuenca and as part of a tour we went through the Homero Ortega Panama Hat company.
This is a rinsing after hat bodies were bleached for a white batch of freshly woven hats. The brims are unfinished at this point:
Here are the hats drying out after the bleaching and rinsing process:
Here are stacks of bodies waiting to be finished. This is the pic in my avatar:
This is a little hat shop in town. Notice the aloe vera hanging above the doorway... for good health to all who enter:
And a horseshoe on the floor as you enter, for good fortune to all who enter:
One of the hats we picked up on the trip, a dyed weave with brown and black straw:
Here's a pic with me and Mike Miller of The NW Hat Company. I'm the curmudgeon on the right. We brought back 3 hats similar to the one I'm wearing here. One for an elderly Salvadoran here in town, and one for another friend, "Pete." Pete's first hat was eaten by their pet rabbit, LOL, and the second one was lost in a house fire they had earlier this year. Pete is having trouble hanging on to his Cuenca hats! We told him next time we're bringing him a Montecristi hat to try and break the cycle!
I actually have a couple packets of "Strobin".

Why am I not surprised...I actually have a couple packets of "Strobin".

Mike, Thanks! I have no idea. I haven't tried it.I figured if you already didn't have some, you were the successful bidder Steve. Thanks for the translation too. I wonder what the shelf life of the product is
Cristina, Thank you! I am obsessed. Why am I not surprised...
By the way, wonderful to have the translation!!
Y'ever notice how many of these guys have married up?Fed, any other photos of that hat your wife is wearing? I've been through this page a couple of times, but (WADR) I missed the hat because I was bedazzled by the lady's beauty.
