They have popped up here from time to time, but I thought they deserved a thread of their own:
Portraits that showcase vintage fashion.
I think they are important counterpart to photography for several reasons.
One is colour, so often missing from the photographs of the time.
Another is the artist's subjective depiction of the subject's personality and his clothes, which can be inspiring.
Here are some good ones, mainly from the inter-war period.
