There was also a great old movie called Fighter Squadron full of P-47s with Edmund O'Brien. Nextflix does not have it however. It was made when the P-47 was still plentiful about 1950.

There is a P-47 museum at Millville Airport in southern NJ that has been built up over the past 20 or so years in tribute to the aviators and ground crews that worked with the Jugs. In the early 80's while I was with the Civil Air Patrol squadron on the field,there were only the remnants of the training facilities that had been built in the early 40's. Over a dozen pilots lost their lives in training accidents during WW2. Thanks to a few dedicated history buffs there is now a fitting monument to those of the "Greatest Generation" who gave their all at Millville Army Air Force Base. They do occasionally have a P47 on display.
