Knocked some dust off, trimmed a bit of damaged edge off and steamed it up a bit on a hatblock and brim block.... Little bit better. First observation is that with wool a LITTLE steam goes a long way and gives it a mind of its own lol. At least until I figure out what to do with this poor thing, its not so embarrasing on the wall. It was ugly enough that I COULDNT leave it alone.

Guess I could always, iron the brim flat, sew on a row of dingleballs on the edge, burn a couple brands in it, and stick a big feather and kitchen match in the band... Someone on ebay might pay $1000 for a custom hat

Took a chance on this “size 15” Dobbs Gamebird. Interesting two tone with a gray Heather crown and a brown brim.

Good weekend hunting trip for dad kind of hat. ;) Is the Game Bird one of those models that looked very different from year to year? I feel like I’ve seen wider brim versions but have never owned one.

Here in my little town in Deep East Texas we are getting a decent sized Goodwill Thrift store going in. Really hoping it might be a worthwhile hat source. The nearest store had been about 50 miles east of here, and I HAVE found a few decent $20 hats there ( got my fingers crossed)

Good to know about Emry's. I have a couple of hats from there.

Yes, you have. The one I have has a much taller crown and wider brim. They seem to be all over the place, style wise.
