Excellent find, Joe. Needs some shaping obviously, but a nicely woven hat to start with.

I have often wondered what happened to Timothy and his closet. Surely he didn’t sell all those hats? They were pretty darn pricey.Item of interest... File under "Don't see these too often".

This seller kinda reminds me of Timothie from eBay days gone by with some nice hats at crazy prices. But this one is actually almost reasonable, all things considered.
He may have gone to prison. Highway robbery or some similar charge...I have often wondered what happened to Timothy and his closet. Surely he didn’t sell all those hats? They were pretty darn pricey.
Uggh…. That Stratoliner box is cool.“Please don’t include the hat boxes to save on shipping”
Two giant boxes and one vintage hat shipping box (with a Fed-Ex label slapped on it) later I have six hats and four hat boxes I paid a lot in shipping for and all the boxes were damaged when I removed the stickers they stuck on both sides of each box.
Grumble …

I forgot a before pic on this one. The upper right corner of the lid shows the loss of the outer layer.

I hope you got one of their better offerings. I recently took a chance on an inexpensive Smithbilt western from Shopgoodwill. It was made from wool of a grade that I would use to scrub my barbecue grill. .Just bought this hat on another auction site.
Smithbuilt 7 5/8. Looks like the auctioneer had misspelt the name.

$25 CAD and some shipping, I think I did well.
Haha, i saw that too, didn't buy it, because of the sizes and price.Defeat! I thought these three interesting hats would never sell at the asking price given their condition. So I waited for the price to drop while considering if I really needed them. Well, they did sell after all, so what do I know?

Were you able to presist?I thought this might be an “early” Byer-Rolnick hat, but it was not — just a late-century Resistol.

Sigh…
Presistance is futile. Were you able to presist?
Not exactly a hat, but for some of the other Stetson Stratoliner fans here who might appreciate it, I stumbled across this on flea bay and just couldnt resist... A Philadelphia Stetson Stratoliner advertising matchbook! Too Cool! Thinking maybe I could fold it under the ribbon on mine and wear it! Old Nick Foq uses a single match on his hats... Ill have a whole book! lol Will prob just mount it in a little picture frame above the desk here. Can wait till it gets here
