Winter is Over.....run about finds continued.......next is another entry for a mid to late 50's Stetson 3X dress fedora. Has a mode edge, GREAT FELT! Hard to capture the color....kind of a light blue/light grey. Has a wind trolley as well as a 2 1/2 inch brim! Only really, really wish it was my size! Size 7:( so set out for trade...... View attachment 162443 View attachment 162444 View attachment 162445
AND THEN....on Sunday.........at an antique show .......sitting on a chair........is THIS AWSOME 30'S STANDARD QUALITY STETSON!!;) Great wide frayed end, offset ribbon, really nice felt with a goldish lining, has a cream colored sweat (which makes the debossing hard to read). It is a light grey with black ribbon. AND.......AND......AND.......IT IS MY SIZE! So, I just guess I will keep it!:):):):):):):):):):):):):)
It is not new and minty like some of my other finds, but it has character built right in! The awsome bash is as found......and while Standard Quality was the 5 dollar introductory hat to the Stetson line bavk then.....the felt quality still beats the hell out of most any modern fedora! Very good looking hats, both of them, Mark.

So I was out again yesterday.....and then found this......
Like new Park Royal Hats (never heard of them) summer hemp. Fits just fine!

AND THEN, the saint of hats led me to THIS!,:eek::):):):):):):):):):)
YES, a 1940's nice large prorportioned BLUE Adam Executive homburg!! And well, like the Standard Quality Stetson from Sunday.......IT IS MY SIZE!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
:):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)
Bashed as found......it is going to stay! I removed the sewn in liner as it was rumpled from stacking.....so I will iron it up and place it back......both the liner and well....the whole hat is really, really, clean, and the felt is wonderful!! I have been wanting a blue hommie for some time.
The liner tip is really cool......pleated like a bowler. With the liner removed I got a great shot of the re-order tag. Looks like it was made for a factory store? Original Price: $7.50.......wish I could capture the dark rich color better.....

Way to go, Mark! They are both winners, but that blue homburg...ooooh.

Well, here I got a really nice mid-50's Disney 15, "Windsor"......one of the nicest looking best proportioned hats I have seen.......and it is NOT my size.....it is no ones size really.... View attachment 163145 View attachment 163147 View attachment 163148 View attachment 163149 View attachment 163150 View attachment 163151 6 7/8:(. Cavanagh Homburg. Again, from Adrián. Early 50's, he says. It has the Park Avenue address.
Since I can't have the Cav Scott bought from Moon (he said he wouldn't sell it even if hell freezes over), I figure this is close enough.

Nice! Looks like it has the thin ribbon edge binding which had a brief popularity on homburgs in the mid 1950s. I like the look. I have an identical Cavanagh in navy with rosy ribbon and once owned a Stetson Fifteen with a dated sales receipt. Steve has recently posted some European homburgs with the same brim styling.
