I will put it on my never-ending list. Thanks, B!Very nice indeed Max.
Now if you could find a Hoyt Louis Cobb hat. Might be easier to find a Stetson Ermine.

Pretty soon Max, you’re going to have to start a thread for hats made by Hoyt. Maybe we will learn more about the man, his hats and companies and the association with MacLachlan.I will put it on my never-ending list. Thanks, B!
Brent, It's VEB Vereinigte Hutwerke Guben and not VEB Luckenwalder Hutfabrik. This hat intrigues me almost enough to spend the $39 to get to hold it. It’s listed as a size 58, so I’m going to pass.

It's late (probably 1970s ) GDR/DDR and for the East Block market. The felt looks interesting but low price point components.
True, true. He is amazing, isn't he?Thank you, Steve. Your encyclopedic knowledge of these hats always amazes me, as does your willingness to share.
Brent, Thanks! I actually have some later VEB Vereinigte Hutwerke Guben hats with nice felt for the time period. They sold into the West German market at very low cost.Thank you, Steve. Your encyclopedic knowledge of these hats always amazes me, as does your willingness to share.
Max, Thank you! I am obsessed.True, true. He is amazing, isn't he?
She probably won't stay there for long...This small Dobbs followed me home:
I’m thinking 1940s?

The girl modeling it stayed on the shelf.
I was checking the boxes until you got to the 7 5/8 or 7 3/4 part !I’m wondering if a trade could be made. If only there was a size 7 who had access to European hats...maybe a 7 5/8 or 7 3/4 Homburg...I’d even throw in another hat or two.

I'm sure we can!I’m a great optimist. If you come across such a hat I’m sure we can come to a mutually agreeable deal.
Cavanagh.... checkI told the seller where to find the label behind the sweatband and they assured me it said 7 7/8! We’ll see:

Then again they also said it was from the 1920s.
I have this "western wear" hat band incoming. Guessing that it is a '50s/'60s era thing. The "conchos" have western motifs and brands. It's from a long-time Detroit department store (1909 - 1962). Only $2.00 to win it so I'm sure I'll get that much fun out it at least.
Badd A$$I’m diggin’ it. Need to play with the spacing and might have to replace the leather.

I think it might be aluminum. What kind of metal is that on the conchos?
It does look like aluminum, but I wondered if it was just shiny pewter.I think it might be aluminum.
