I am trying to get all the Stetson numbers. This is the first 50 I've seen. Bowen says he saw a One Hundred and Fifty once. I hope I find one, but I doubt it.

Nice one Max. The liner looks identical to my 7XCB and it also has the ribbon sweat detail. Mine is late 60’s should be a few pages back in the 7X thread.

No indication, just the generic Shudde Bros markings and a faceful of risk between me and one other guy.

It is exactly the same box of my Churchill 100.
And the block for the crown and the ribbon look very similar as well. I think/hope it is a Churchill.
Too much of a coincidencia, no?

The vintage world, at times, can be very cruel.

I don't get emotionally attached to things very often, but in relation to hats, the only hat I have that I will never part with is my cavalry Stetson that I wore while crossing the Iraqi border in 1991 on top of a Bradley tank while manning a fifty cal. That hat was with me the whole time for the two weeks we were engaged in the ground war. I was attached to the 1st Infantry and we kicked some serious behind.[emoji631][emoji631][emoji631][emoji106]

The hat is neatly stored with my uniform.

So, I can understand how people feel when they encounter something special.
