OTHER THAN eBAY Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Saw this and it appeared small. Flipped it over and for a brief second thought I had struck gold when I saw the size. It’s gold, but just a small flake. ☹️

Ugh that’s a beautiful hat! That price too and probably could be had for $100 it’s like torture isn’t it?

A new to me, other than eBay. A Standard Quality Stetson bowler. Any help with dating would be appreciated. Unlike my other two fantastic derbys, this one has had it wear and tear with bumps and bruises on the crown. The felt itself is very nice and more pliable than I would have expected. With some steam I'm certain I could make a homburg-esque hat.

A 2 inch brim, 4 3/4 crown, and a 1 inch ribbon and frayed bow and a small red bow on the sweat. This thing has writting all over it (the pictures may not be very clear). The 1 3/4 brown sweat has an embossed JBS Comfort logo, under the sweat an orange reorder tag, red block tag with handwritten info that I can't make out, and another small tag brown/gold tag with red letters 5723 (it looks about the size of a price tag but those printed numbers don't make sense as a price). Printed on the reverse side of the sweat are ???LOT 6371 or 6381, 348 Bow, and the same reorder number as on the printed tag:E137425. There is a second reorder number as well but it looks like someone tried to scratch over it with a pencil (E138006).

Yeah, creo que se me pasó la mano. It's just that Ivano's find is hard to beat; they're all immaculate and very old.

They are very nice. I have my basement booby trapped with vintage hats everywhere, lol...I'm going to concentrate on some modern hat makers for a change. I'm working on a couple of Gannon's and an Optimo is on the Three Kings Day holiday list [emoji6]

It is hard to ignore a nice vintage hat.[emoji24][emoji1]
