Would you mind terribly telling how y'all are using the Motion? I picked some up tonight when I was at Sally's grabbing a rat and hair pins.
Sorry I didn't get this sooner I've been so busy! Anyway, I put a big dollup of the foam in my hands and rub it all over and massage it in my damp to wet hair. If my hair is wet though I don't roll it into pin-curls right away...I let it dry a bit and while it's barely damp roll the curls. I've been using it for two weeks and I LOVE IT!!! You can use it on dry hair too but it only lasts the night for me...in the morning my hair is unforgivably greasy and dirty so I try not to use it on damp hair unless I'm washing my hari the next morning.
This stuff is really awesome and not even a little sticky...have fun!

Mine doesn't really foam up all that much, more or less puddles in my palm if that makes sense!? I have wavy/curly hair and have been CO washing for the past few months. It is something I do off and on. To style my hair I'd been using leave in conditioner and some curl lotion but after one day it would be all gummy...well I used the Motions Saturday and and am still greasies free today! I will have to re do my hair tomorrow but this morning I just showered like normal but didn't wash my hair, let it get wet and air dried....my waves were still there and not horribly fuzzy or greasy! I can't believe I have made it 3 day! I am a bit worried about the dimethecone leaving buildup but so far so good!!!! I can't wait to try this with pincurls or even rollers.

Sorry if this post belongs somewhere else and not as a new thread. I'm new so feel free to give me tips.

Anyway, I have a few hair dilemma's and want to see if there is anyone who has advice or at least shares my hair type. My Dad is Korean and my Mom is Irish so I have Auburn/Red hair and it's silky and hard to manage...I swear it has "moods". It's hard to curl...but when I use sponge rollers it get's REALLY frizzy and when I use Hot Rollers the curls don't stay. I've tried styling products but even the ones that claim they are light and "weightless" weigh my hair down horribly and make it flat and limp. What's worse is when I use hairspray's you can "see" the spray. (I don't know if that makes sense).
Because of the texture nothing sticks and because of the color and texture combined, sprays look "sticky".:eusa_doh:

I'm scared to try pin-curls 'cause I'm afraid of the frizzy dilemma again. Anyway does anyone have any advice...I'm afraid I'm not "up-to-date" in beauty or anything feminine 'cause the first half of my life was spent in the Fire Dept. and the Army. So most of my current "look" has been trial and error and I'm looking to avoid looking like an escapee from the circus as much as possible these days. Any help would be great.lol

P.S. at the risk of sounding like an idiot...what is "setting lotion" and why can't I find it on store or salon shelves?
Thanks and love!

I am half Chinese and half Scottish (hello fellow Eurasian lol) and have similar hard to style hair. My hair is fine but I have a lot of of it so it doesn't look too stringy. It's naturally very straight and in general is very uncorporative when styling. Even my hairdresser admits that my hair is really hard to style as it's quite slippery and slips out of tongs and rollers very easily, unlike Caucasian hair which, as a generalisation, reacts better to styling. After a few years of practising I have simply given up with trying to use heated methods to curl because my hair just doesn't react well to heat and will drop out after 10 minutes. I now stick to setting my hair overnight with setting lotion (Lottabody) and rollers (mainly sponge or pillow curlers) or pin curls. All I can recommend is practise, practise, practise and learn to see what works for your hair and what doesn't. For example, a very curly do will fall out of my hair so most of the time I stick to the pageboy style which only needs to be curled under. Don't be scared to try pin curls again as these are tricky to get right so practise lots. Wetting the ends with water before rolling helps me reduce the frizz.

SarahLouise,
You are just gorgeous! Thanks for the tips...I'm going to set my hair right after my shower and leave it in till right before my husband gets home. I'll try wetting the ends...that should help since I've recently had to be very careful with pomade on the ends or it's too heavy and pulls the curl right out of my hair. Thanks! I'll let you know how it goes!
