Hello, I hope everyone is doing well and is enjoying the early fall weather! All is well here!
I would love to hear what people think of these jackets. I have no personal experience with Dainese jackets, all of my motorcycle jackets being a vintage Cal Leather, a Vanson Sportrider, and a cheap Cortech. However, I stumbled across this jacket in a size 54 and it fits me great. From only trying it on at a shop it seems like it would be a nice summer riding jacket as it has some perforations in the front and is armored.
I know that Dainese has been around for awhile, and a lot of riders seem to like them. I have no clue as to the quality of what they are making now. This particular jacket is tagged “Made in Ukraine”, and I don’t know if that’s considered a good thing or not.
The other question that I have is a personal one of my comfort level with the design and styling of the jacket, and I know that’s up to me to sort out. Ducati claims that the jacket is designed by Aldo Drudi, whom I believe has designed helmets for the likes of Valentino Rossi. The jacket has lots of Ducati branding, and also sports the number 1 on the back, which of course was the great Carl Fogarty’s number as a factory Ducati rider. So between the connections to Drudi and Fogarty, I guess the jacket has some moto-creds. However, I have never been one to wear braided jackets, the idea of that has never appealed to me. One of my bikes is a Ducati, so if I’m on my Ducati and wearing a jacket with Ducati written all over it, I don’t know I’ll feel cool or if I’ll feel rather silly! Nonetheless, I think the jacket looks great, at least it does on the rack in the motorcycle shop. Anyway, I’m trying to make up my mind whether or not to pull the trigger on this one. It would be great to hear what you all think of this.
Cheers!
