Someone earlier indicated they were display models from some hat or fashion show. I'll have to double check my Racine, but pretty sure all hats I've gotten at the outlet have hole punches.

I think there are a combination of seconds and returned overstocks.


Sent directly from my mind to yours

The Stetsonian I picked up from this guy on the Bay was a floor model from a hat show. There is no hole punched in the sweat, the Stetson box was in perfect shape and he shipped it inside a heavier cardboard box. Top notch seller in this instance. The hat is as new, no imperfections, no signs of wear or of even being bashed.
