Sunlight blots out the combo of light beige, peach or something similar.
My dad drove a green combo which I
first learned to drive.(auto-shift)
My first car was a beetle (auto-shift)
Later drove a standard.
I had no problem adapting.

I'm thinking it's Doeskin Tan and Colonial White. Generally speaking, I'm not a huge fan of '57 Fords (I'd much rather have a '57 drivetrain in a '55), but that one is pretty nice!

That car that's getting the business in the second shot is a 1942 DeSoto, the first regular-production American car with retractable headlights. Very few of these made their way into the hands of the public before all 1942 models of all cars in stock were impounded by the government for war-critical use only. A lot of these DeSotos ended up as military staff cars.

Besides gas-rationing window stickers,
You could spot “wood bumpers”.
With “A” window sticker, one could buy about 4 gallons of gasoline.
There were different “letter” gas stickers available depending on the task required
to travel on the roads

Below the ration sticker, you'll see the Federal Motor Vehicle Use Tax stamp, which taxed all motor vehicles at a rate of $5 a year per vehicle for the duration of the war. These stamps were required by law on the windshields of all cars and trucks registered for use on any public road.

There's a War on, You Know!

During the Second World War, you couldn't just walk into a shop and buy as much sugar or butter or meat as you wanted, nor could you fill up your car with gasoline whenever you liked. All these things were rationed, which meant you were only allowed to buy a small amount (even if you could afford more). The government introduced rationing because certain things were in short supply during WW2.

Looks like Raymond was on a diet or tight on “moolah!”
