I disagree.
Grace Kelly had a natural beauty
even at young age when most
go through an awkward stage.

In my line of business, cameraman,
I've seen actresses up close (interviews) whose features are smaller in person.
A photo is not the best source to
determine how a woman really looks.
What you see in Kelly is a woman
who lost that which is referred to
as "baby fat".
The one time I saw Elizabeth Taylor in
Hollywood, I was surprized at how small
in size she was. But to be fair I'm 6'3"
and seeing them on the screen is something else altogether.

I'm happy to stand corrected - I have no bias one way or the other. If she had work done - good for her, if not, good for her. Doesn't matter in my book. I don't have your experience - and greatly respect your professional opinion - but I'm not ready cave yet. Maybe baby fat, maybe a bit of nip and tuck.

I'm sure I've shared this before, but in the late '50s or early '60s, my mom was standing in line at a racetrack to make a bet for my dad (a very regular occurrence in my atypical family) when she started talking with the woman behind her whom my mom said was so stunningly gorgeous she couldn't stop looking at her. Later that day, she realized (or maybe was told, I don't remember anymore) that it was Grace Kelly she had been talking with. My mom said she was beyond beautiful / that she was so stunning that you couldn't completely think straight in her presence.

P.S. My mom did say that for the less than two minutes they talked about nothing, Kelly was very nice and regular. But that's kind of a whatever.

I've a particular fondness for him and his work (especially Paladin), and he lived here in St. Augustine, Florida (my home state) at the end of his life; I never met him, but I do have his autograph...and, I've been told he was a gracious and kind human being.

Just wondering if you'd ever run into him.

Accidentally or on purpose, the photographer's angle makes it look like Gulf has branded the lighthouse.

Miss. Gulf Coast, perhaps, ca. 1952? And that looks like one of the Nash "bathtub" models. There is a YouTube video of the one Jay Leno has/had, a 1950 Ambassador. Neat as the styling looks, it must have played the very devil with trying to change a tire!

This is an interesting shot -- Caltex was a joint venture between Texaco and Standard of California that did business in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, and this is the first time I've ever seen proof that they used an adaptation of the Teague Texaco station format. If I had to guess, I'd say this station was in Australia or New Zealand, where they had and still have a very strong presence.
