I was given this outfit... I have no idea what it's worth but I know it's rare. The designer, Nathan Turk, made suits for The Maddox Brothers, Elvis, and made many of the western get-ups for the movies. It might be a womans suit. Does anyone know any more? I'm curious.. What is the value on this?
Big bucks! That's a beauty!
Not sure if it's mens or womens- I'm leaning towards womens, but it's a rare piece of (probably) stagewear by one of the best western tailors of the day.
The buttons on the shirt are on the right side... but I'm confused because the pants button and zip on the right hip. I thought that was a woman wear thing...
So funny. Was watching Pawn Stars tonight and they had this brand jacket on the show.
Stated a jacket alone would be around $3000.
Not sure what date they were speaking of.
Items and prices are all over the place in the vintage world lately.
This Nudie suit, which was custom made for Webb Pierce (hence spider webs) popped up on eBay for all of about two days. To me this was especially because since Web Pierce is one of my personal favorites:
Here's an awesome action shot of Webb (and the web suit on TV circa 1955 - 1960):
The same seller also sold this Nudie suit as well. It belong to a somewhat lesser known country star (who's criminally underrated IMHO) named Lloyd "Cowboy" Copas. Cowboy died in the same plane crash which killed Hawkshaw Hawkins, Patsy Cline and her manager/the pilot, Randy Hughes.
This Nudie shirt is up on eBay right now . . . if only it were my size:
The fact that it has a name written on the tag is pretty cool. It was probably put there by a wardrobe mistress for easy identification when the backup band's stage wear was sent out for cleaning
Let's not forget Nudie's #1 competitor: Nathan Turk. I spotted this woman's western shirt by Nathan Turk online. By Turk standards it's super understated:
