This is one awesome hat!!! Pictures tell the tale. NO tip label as crown is "vented" as are the sides. Round crown vent, diamond side vents!!!!
Color is classic bright WHITE with black ribbon.....

Could very well be....I do not know. Most American makers of the time got their bodies from South America so I was just assuming (we all know what that means). I was just judging based on the weave (is not Monticristi also a weave) it could be a Bankaru and now I know, looking at other examples it sure looks to be one!!!!!. I should have just said straw.......

YES it is absolutely pristine.....BUT....I NEVER recommend trying to stretch (even a tad little bit) straw hats. Simply adjust the oval...sure.....stretch....no.

I've had a hat maker stretch my Borsalino Panama hat last year. It does stretch but only a little. He measured before and after, it went from a size 59 to a 60 (cm).
