Norshor A-2 Doniger - Cowhide

Another new one - this is an "experimental" David D. Doniger stand-collar A-2 in veg-tanned cowhide from Mark at Norshor. It's not custom (though unworn) but I think the fit is really good - it has a couple of anachronous features from other contracts so isn't 100% spec to the historical Doniger design but honestly, that doesn't bother me.

This is my first Norshor and I know Mark isn't as big a name as some, but I'm very impressed with the workmanship and it's really a lovely hide - thick and fairly heavy but not at all stiff.

Nice leather. I like the rich color, and the construction looks well done for a 'test' piece. The fit looks good (as far as I can tell from the single pic ). I've watched Mark's work evolve over the years, and think that his jackets are top-shelf, although I've never had the pleasure of owning one (yet )...

Thanks - here's a couple more pics to show the fit. The hide is interesting - medium-thick and heavy but not stiff, beautiful grain. Never having owned a Goodwear or Kelso Badalassi or the like, I don't know what it would compare to in a modern production cowhide jacket.
