NOOB Question

Hello,
I'm new around here (Check my thread "Hello, New to the Lounge").
I have a question, What does the acronym OFAS stand for? I see it in many of the threads and have no idea what it refers to except perhaps some mystical place where hat deals abound/

All the new guys ask that. We are trying to stop using that because there is no reason, and just confuses people.

There is actually a notice (a plea to stop using it) about it in one of the other topic forums here on the Lounge.

You'll notice that OFAS doesn't save any amount of time as far as typing it out is concerned. The only thing OFAS has done successfully is confuse people who are not familiar with the acronym.

Another consideration, the boards "favorite" auction site could change in future, and the present and older references to OFAS would then attain a strict context and further the confusion of people.

although if you know what to look for, there are deals to be had.

I picked up a pristine Cavanagh Homburg with a large brown sweatband and its original Cavanagh box in excellent shape last night for $35 on a Buy It Now from a sellers store. I'll post pictures when I get it and reach 15 posts.
