decodoll said:Hooray! I've never had rude comments about dressing vintage, but I've had plenty about how pale I am. Why people seem to think it's acceptable to comment on the lightness of one's skin any more than the darkness is beyond me! No way am I going to try to change myself for them! I like my paleness... come summer, I just pile on more sunblock!

One thing that turns me off about self tanners is the distinct odor they put out. Do you have noses that can pick up the scent I'm talking about? It's been about 5 years since I've used a self tanner so maybe nowadays they are better and don't have the odor.
Lady Day said:Wow, this is a fasinating thread. Being of the melanin enhanced part of the human race a lot of my friends and fam would be baffled by all the 'ima be tan' folks out there, the products, and all the fashion dictations on it.

FYI
I turn this color when my melanin factory kicks in. Choo choo!

Some of the products contained some bad chemical, but now they have changed it too be safe....
About 3 months ago, our news station, brought out this story. Several women, bought one of these machines and spray themselves and saved alot of money in the long run.....they would put up the plastic in the garage and then spray everyone down...

yep, I know what you are talking about. I don't care for the smell either. So it is good to know there is something out there that actually smells good!ITG said:One thing that turns me off about self tanners is the distinct odor they put out.
