My dad had a 68 Impala SS 427, essentially the same body style as the 67. To this day, he complains what a boat it was and follows up with, "You'd love that car".
Two of my favorite cars were a '67 Impala and a '73 Delta 88, both exquisitely cosmetically challenged, but ran like nobodys' business.
The Impala blew its crankshaft, and the Delta, rustbucket that it was, had to go when I moved double the distance from my job back in '95, when it cost me, at 1995 gas prices, $60/week in gas to get back and forth to work. Today, with present gas prices, my car costs me less money to cover the same distance.
