Yes, White's and Nicks are very similar. If i'm not mistaken i think Nick used to work at White's so i've heard I could be wrong. They are not lined, just how you hoped. Yes, soft toe, as i bought these for casual wearing. I have a pair of the Hotshots that i used daily for work, seriously tough boots.

I've been reading that guys are saying Nick's is making better boots than Whites. Even if they're close, that's a huge compliment and I'd not hesitate (waiting to get the Orange Horween Predators) to buy.

I would assume a nice insole can make the fit snug for you. i don't like insoles on white's or Nicks since they both build the high arch, so they're comfortable for me as they are.

Hey, Bud! didn't i sell you some Chippewa engineers a few years ago? we meet in Arroyo Parkway? lol. Yeah man, Nicks are pretty much up there. I would go as far as saying way better than Wesco, very similar to White's. White's was sold to to an Asian market now, but I think they will still keep producing them in Spokane WA, quality may decrease in the near future for White's.

haha, no worries i have good long term memory and such a bad short term memory, lol. Idk it's a bit hard to say, when i bought these i also purchased a pair of their renegades in a size 12.5, they fit very well with thick socks, these feel the same. my 12.5 hot shots feel huge, like almost a 13 on the bigger side. if you wear a 13 in chips ill stick with 12.5 on nicks, some 12 may even fit ya.

yes these are D with, a good cobbler might be able to widen them a bit.
