Thanks for all the likes on this jacket. I feel lucky enough that the measurements worked out but that it’s also so clean and hard to believe this is a vintage jacket . The pockets are stout and fabric still feels like new and the brass zippers are as fresh as can be too . The only slight wear of course is at the back collar area and that only tells me that yes the jacket was worn a few times.

I again than you. I endeavor to find jackets that have a unique quality. There are a lot of Vintage jackets out there.

As I said somewhere! To me The Made in California label means something more than hype or advertising. This jacket leather and tailoring is a good example. The leather is a higher quality and stands out.

I have a few more coming this way. I'm waiting on a Buco style police jacket as I write.

This guy just came in the mail. Another Wow jacket! Did not expect that it would fit, but it does. I fully expected this to go up for sale. Now that it fits, I'm not so sure. Very little money in it.

I have been collecting leather jackets off and on for about 35 years so I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos
on utube. I used to buy vintage jackets in the village in NYC back in the 80's when nobody was looking for them,sometimes for 40-50 bucks. It has always been hard to find my size 48-50. I was wondering if you had any
of that size range you were thinking of selling? I also wondered if you have heard of the Jet brand? We got one in New Zealand for my wife back in 88 on our honeymoon. It is a beautifully aged black steerhide that looks like a one-star Schott. Anyhow, happy hunting, thanks for your videos, they have been very educational! Cheers, Ron.

Thanks for your comments. I go one jacket at a time. I'll buy one I learn about it may lead me to another jacket. I have not heard of the Jett brand. I missed out on buying leather jackets in the 80s for 40 bucks! I've always owned a leather jacket. I would buy cool old jacket when I could, but they just didn't show up here here.

I agree finding things in your size in vintage is almost impossible. I typically wear 44 and I've found jackets larger. They don't show up and your choice are limited.

I did recently by a horsehide jacket half belt least a 46, maybe a bit bigger. Unfortunately I'm not selling it.

Not to butt into this conversation---but I have a handful of larger jackets in the 48-50 range that may interest you. Nothing like some of the showstopping specimens that Terry has per se, but I will be posting a 60s-70s Schott Cafe Racer size 50 soon and I also have some others that I have been meaning to list. When you say that you wear 48-50, does that mean in Vintage sizes or in modern sizes?? I am personally probably a 44-46 in the older jackets but I also like a bit of a looser/larger fit than some so I have a lot of jackets I have picked up that are spot on---but of course, plenty that ended up fitting too big for me. Perhaps if you post your measurement range -- Pit2Pit, Shoulder seam to Shoulder seam, Back Length, Sleeve Length, some of us can see what we have in your size.

To echo Terry, the best vintage finds are almost ALWAYS in sizes smaller than your size. Sadly, they are usually smaller than mine as well. So its certainly a tough row to hoe trying to find unique true vintage in a 48-50. Very limited. I also recently picked up a 50s Windward Horsehide that is a larger size. I am still contemplating its fit for me so it might have to be moved on as well. When you get time, I recommend posting measurements from jackets that fit you well and maybe some of us can get you some cool jackets in your size.

Hello , I have a bunch of jackets that almost fit right, I am sure you know the situation if you buy online.I will only buy online if there is a returns accepted policy.I wear a modern 48 although it varies by maker. Vanson and Aero leathers fit well in that size. I like a roomy fit, like 27" Pit to Pit, 26.5" shoulder to wrist, and 27-30 from bottom of collar to waist down the back.I do have Blatt and Windward jackets that fit from the 50's.I find
Schotts dont do it for me for several reasons, I do like old Bates and Brooks, both in 48 fit.Let me know what you are looking to sell in my size, thanks. I also have a bunch of jackets that I would part with if you are looking for anything specifically,let me know. I am 6'2" about 215lbs.

Traditional black heavy Horsehide. Leather has great patina with nice brown wear through(Real Tea Core!) Shoulders upper arms are strong, original Talon main zipper is well sewn and fine working. The right pocket has a Talon Diamond pull, the left side pull is missing. Both zip fine. Straight zip with badge holder. Lining is poor, loose in neck area, wear through the lining in pocket bag area. Two inside pockets one with Talon tear drop pull. Both Labels are present. and Storm cuffs in working order as are both cuff snaps.

Very presentable, wears well, looks great.

I think you know I'm a Taubers fan. They fit me better that the other California makes. This is a very traditional Police jacket made in San Fransico, CA.

Overall I feel like pretty true to size. I had a 46 in the same jacket pictured here and it fit like a 46. I can't even remember if this one has a size tag in it. The police jackets are going to be snug. I almost forgot, I received a size 46 Taubers today, and it fits like a 46.

I like this one. Just 99.5% sure the sleeves would be too short, it they were 25" straight down this would be much more likely. Very nice jacket there Terry!
