New member! Help ID this leather Cossack style jacket?

Hey guys! I've lurked for years and decided to post and get your opinions. I stopped into this newly opened vintage store today and found this beautiful leather? Horsehide? Jacket that fit me perfectly for $90. It's in great shape and quite heavy weight. It looks like a 30s/40s waist length Cossack style coat, but other than that, I have no clue who the manufacturer is or when it was actually built. I'm hoping someone might have idea?

Judging by the liner and puller I'm gonna go with mid 40s-early 50s

Very interesting design, notably with the knit cuffs. And one helova find at $90 bones- congrats!

Nice jacket. Looks 50s. Could be a lot of brands. The cuffs are unusual for this style. Lot of different configurations during the 50s. If it fit me I would have paid $90 for it..

It's from the 1950s. Can you tell if the cuffs were shortened? Their proportions look off and usually when there are knit cuffs, the end sits flush with the leather.

Thanks for the replies! I don't know if the leather cuffs were shortened, but the knit cuffs almost look like they were added on ad hoc/home made? If the arms were shortened, then the person they designed it for had really long arms and an extremely short torso! Right now, wearing jeans it just covers my belt.

The knit cuffs definitely look homemade. That short length in the body is how these were originally designed. Many reproductions have taken the style and thrown the proportions off by lengthening the body to account for low-rise jeans and untucked shirts.

If the arms are very long with the knits, I wonder if someone wore them tucked up inside as storm cuffs?

One question for the gang: I had always thought a Cossack or Lancer style involved a double breasted front with two rows of buttons converging, kinda like the style below. Am I confused?

I'm wondering if it's horsehide...anyway to tell for sure? Seems like horsehide was very popular in the 40s/50s.

Cossack was the term used from the 1930s onward to describe this particular style of waist length leather jacket with no knit waistband.

Which store was it if you don't mind saying? I'm in Eugene and we go to Portland now and then to go to vintage shops. This sounds like one I'd like to visit.

I don't remember the exact name, but it's on the corner of N. Williams Ave and Shaver. They have some leather jackets in there for cheap. I love the jacket I got there. At first I thought the price was a mistake...I've seen vintage leather in other local shops for three times the price in worse condition...
