Hey guys

I'm kinda new to this site. My wife (Desi_de_lu_lu) got me on here as I eat breathe and sleep this stuff like most of you people do. I try my best to live a vintage lifestyle all the time but sometimes it's easier said than done, lol. I drive my 58 Cameo all the time (hence the name, Cameo Carrier) and although my wife has a new car that is my daily driver. I have always been into the 50's a little bit more than anything else but I'm coming around. I was born to late like all of you but I think I'm going backwards lol. I'm getting into a lot more 30's and 40's stuff as I get older. Any questions you have for me I will be glad to answer. I am a very simple person however. I'm glad to be on here and I hope to learn and have a lot of fun on here. Thank you for letting me be a part of your world on here.

Regards,
Scott

Hello all.

My interest in all things vintage has been simmering for a while, but I can see it going to full boil, after discovering the Lounge a few months ago!

It started with my parents and their love for 1930s and 1940s music. My dad had his 1930s Chinese pop standards on the original 78rpm records. My mum kept a collection Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly musicals recorded off daytime telly, and she loved big band swing as well as the crooners. As a kid, I remember falling asleep, with my head resting on a tape player, softly playing Nat King Cole's 'Paper Moon'.

I also went through a Marilyn Monroe phase when I was 9, pouting and lip-syncing to 'My Heart Belongs to Daddy' in front of a mirror! Oh, the innocence.

Nowadays, I do swing dance and am inspired by Shanghai as seen through the eyes of Wong Kar Wai in In the Mood for Love and 2046 and Ang Lee's Lust, Caution.

So here's looking forward to chatting with you all on the forums!

I posted an intro in the Powder Room first before coming over here, so at the risk of cross-posting:

Hiya all,
My name is Seimon Pugh-Jones, live in Wales UK. I'm a stills photographer specialising in historical reeconstruction photography. I was staff photographer for a Magazine called Armchair General for four years...Have now gone freelance and setting up a company called TIMELINE.

Love collecting and using vintage cameras, vintage drums and have quite a large collection of WW2 uniforms and equipment.

This forum seems like a great place to be...
:eusa_clap
Cheers,
Seimon.

I think it takes 15 (or maybe 25) posts to open up your membership to full on benefits, such as PM's and such. Remember a post such as "Nice Hat" or "cool Pix" counts as a post. So go into an area of interest or two and be congenial with your comments, you can hit the mark pretty quick with some written nods to things posted.

Either way....you can't actually post -attachments- per se...but you can then link to photos hosted elsewhere. I recommend photobucket for this purpose.

http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?t=23495 is a short -how to- about picture posting.

Welcome!

Hello! I also posted a brief intro in the powder room, but it was fairly short, so this will be slightly more indepth.

Hello! I'm Jessi, I live in the Bay Area of California (although I'm hoping to move to NY eventually). I dress vintage nearly every day, unless there is some packing disaster and all I can find are modern jeans and creepers (has happened a few times, sadly). I watch movies all the time, but instead of checking out ones I haven't seen, I tend to watch my favorites over and over again. I love music, of lots of different kinds (as formentioned in the powder room). I enjoy sewing, although I'm not especially good at it. I love drawing, gardening, baking, going to concerts (I am a terrible dancer, though) etc. don't really have any friends who are into vintage, so I'm glad to meet you all :)

Hallo to the new people, especially the Melbournians! Looks like Victoria is pulling ahead of NSW in the vintage stakes.

SuperKawaiiMama, Nicole from Circa turned me on to your blog, and I've been meaning to sign on - I've loved reading it! You looked utterly amazing at the Art Deco exhibition opening - that Nile Green shade is one of my favourite colours.

Great to finally feel apart of the group! I've been back and forth in the lounge keeping myself up on the wonderfully interesting posts here. I have a fascination with Make-Up and Hair and All things Vintage! I love the 1920's to the 50's, But seem to only get away looking more 50's than 20's or 30's. History is Awesome to me, and I enjoy learning new things everyday! I have 2boys 7 and 8 so getting the chance to dress up in Vintage Glamour Attire is only a thought. The only femininity, (if thats even how to say it) I carry is through my make-up and hair. Everytime I get a chance to read new posts which has been a few this week has been great to keep me tied into the Golden Era and such. Thanx A Billion to those who have put their time and hardwork into keeping this site so fasinating! I truly Appreciate it!

A Cheerful Hello to my new friends that I am so going to enjoy making! I posted a bit about myself in the powder room, and after that found this thread.

This Lounge is everything and more that I was always trying to google in the beginning. I know I can't say thank you enough!

I love the 1920's - 50's and wish Silk stockings could be purchased for next to nothing still! My most enjoyable time is collecting Marilyn Monroe Books and learning Make-up techniques of the more Glamourous Days of Yesteryear!

Though I wish I could pull off the 40's long locks and Beautiful dresses, I try my best to look as Vintage as I can get.

Im just so thrilled to be apart of this lounge and to be apart of this Grand Community!

Hi to everyone! I first came here in 2004. However I was on an old & frustrating way of surfing the 'net (WebTV/MSNTV) & it was very frustrating to go on certain websites (so slooowww) & this was one of them. I now have a wonderful computer & can actually access many more websites now (& faster too). lol I have been interested in vintage 'stuff' ever since I can remember. I'm sure it stems from my parents. Growing up watching the old movies & hearing of WWII & other stories from the 30's & 40's from them certainly stoked my interest. I collect militaria primarily WWII stuff. I also have started a collection of homefront items & have also become very interested in the fashions of the 30's & 40's both womens & mens clothing. I also have a vintage interest in the 50's & early 60's. I live in Maryland.
