New Good Wear Cossack pattern

John has just listed a Cossack jacket on his sales page. It's already been sold, unfortunately not to me.

It's off a Security Aviation Togs pattern from 1932. Unusually for a Good Wear, it's unlined.

I like it a lot. Were I to get one, I'd ask for the patch pockets to be replaced by handwarmers, add an inch or two to the length, and maybe get it in a natural horsehide, like the Mister Freedom Campus Jacket.

I like it. Doesnt need handwarmers. Just delete the front pockets altogether. One inside pocket only.

I posted a couple of pics of the original Scully in a thread. Don't recall which one. John saw the jacket and asked to reproduce it. The original is a magnificent goatskin. John identified the Talon zipper as a 1932. I did not ask about the zipper placement, so not sure why it is on the left side. I'll ask John his idea. John has seen a variety of Scully jackets so he was well aware of them, but not sure he had handled one.

He did not think he had the correct Goat on hand. I am quite sure he will source whatever in any hide and do his work.

I was floored when he sent me some pics. He sure got the color correct.

I know he has some other ideas for a label.

Wow, I have now idea why, (especially since i'm so new to this world) but I just love that Cossack look, especially with buttons instead of a zipper, and less pointed collar, and maybe just a little longer. Of course I'm sure I could get one made eventually, for a price. Just wouldn't be able to retire soon, if I did.

Thanks for the bump, seeing this for the first time.. Johns re-make is amazing as any of his jackets, but Terrys original... dang! I just got an amazing jacket in and said I'd stop getting new ones, but now that I look at this, my desire to get this or at least something alike is unreasonably big.. That goatskin looks amazing..
