Rugged Rider looks very sharp, but yeh, those cuffs and sleeves. My Perfecto cuff is 4.5" and my Vanson C2 is 4" (half, both in size 40). RW lists there rider with a 5" cuff. My Perfecto bicep is 7" and my C2 7.5". RW lists theirs as 8.5".

On a sleek, cycle-inspired jacket, I just wouldn't be happy with so much extra room. I could kinda see it in the pics, so I grabbed a couple of my jackets to measure.
Extra room actually comes in very handy for actual riding.

I've ridden for 20+ yrs, and I've not found that to be the case. To each their own, though!

Usually, it just means you need to wear gauntlets to keep the air from running up them, and then it just looks like a mess with the gloves over your jacket. My rule of thumb is that I should JUST be able to see my watch 'printing' under the leather sleeve....that's a good fit.

Thick sweatshirts to keep warm on winter rides, wearing a protective (armoured) base layer. Some folks like to wear racing gauntlet gloves beneath a casual jacket as well.

I don’t mean to suggest that a huge amount is needed by any means though.

Pretty stoked with it.

That looks and fits incredible! Like tailor made for you. Was it a stock or a custom? What are your impressions? For example compared to your Vansons.
Thanks ;-)

It‘s somewhere between the two, it was a stock “S” size with 2” added to the sleeves.

I didn’t get my hem measurements right so I needed to get that altered to a tiny 17” (43cm).

I love it. The hue is truly one of a kind, deep and rich and oh so shiny but not squeaky.
Quite thin and supple as others have noted but in my case I think it offers a nice alternative to my self-standing Vansons.

@Leilah Wilde ’s service was outstanding. Patient, kind, efficient. She made the nerve racking process of ordering and subsequently having not one but three jackets altered to fit me a nice and pleasant experience.

So initially you got a stock "S" with added sleeve length but afterwards sent it back to get some extra taper? I guess you also got the waist tapered, not only the bottom hem.
"Quite thin" sounds worrying to me, but I did order mine as a warm weather t-shirt only jacket so it's beneficial if it's thinner than my other ones.
Glad to hear you had good communication with Leilah, I have the same experience - she's very sweet to deal with, even if she is swamped sometimes making it a bit harder to get an answer from her.
This looks bonkers. Very nice indeed… as do all of the jackets I’ve seen posted thus far.
That's the one I went for, hoping to get it for my b-day early July. Will do a proper thorough review once I get it :)

Hello everyone.
I received my first jacket.
It's a Lonely Hunter in oiled bison.
I'm very impressed by the quality of the leather, the workmanship, and the finishing touches.
I'm not a great connoisseur like all of you, but I know certain brands like Schott US, Belstaff, Aero...
These are brands that can be found near me for around €1,200 or more.
Leilah's jacket doesn't seem to me to be of lower quality for a price half the price.
Rugged West seems to me to be an excellent alternative to these much more expensive brands.
I think they make some very smart concessions, like having them made in Pakistan.
Tell me if I'm talking nonsense, but that's really my feeling.

I’m loving mine too, and can’t stop thinking about what I’ll be ordering next from Rugged West.

Aero’s price increase has made it quite hard for me to justify a purchase anytime soon and I just liked the way Leilah handled both the sale and the after sale. Having a commercial relationship with someone one trusts is so important when dealing with custom-made mail orders.

Happy for you! I love mine and certainly gets a ton of compliments from strangers (which is new for me, I've never been complimented on my clothes before, even the wife is surprised)

Please share some pictures if you can!

Share some pictures of the jacket and fit if you don't mind.
I'm waiting for my Rugged Rider 3 (with the full bi-swing back) in teacore steerhide, hopefully I'll get it in the next few weeks. Then I can do a thorough review as well.

However, the Lonely Hunter doesn't fit me the way I would have liked, so I sent it back and I'm going to get another model that will fit me better.
Leilah was great.
I'm going to get the Single Rider and later the Marling.
I took some photos, but they're not great; they don't show off the jacket to its best advantage.
However, I really insist that the problem is me, not the jacket; Leilah does a really good job.
And the leather is particularly bright.
And as you say, it's better to get the Rugged West than the others that are twice as expensive.
