They’re not always like that though. My Rugged Rider is in Leilah’s hands for some hemming (I screwed up the measurements) but the cuffs fitted me perfectly (just enough room for a sweater) and I have tiny wrists.

Beautiful jacket! Looks fantastic on you. That's the cordovan as well right? Looking forward to more pictures / review once you get it back from the hemming :)

Thanks mate, I love the way it fit me from the front. First crossed zip jacket I’ve ever worn too and I really liked it.

Do you guys often wear these fully zipped up ?

Yes it’s the Cordovan, a really beautiful, rare hue. Looks much more special IRL.

I'd say I wear my cross zips (don't have a single center zip and don't plan on getting one - I'm totally camp cross-zip) around 60% mid zipped, 20% fully zipped and 20% unzipped, something like that. My both jackets feel okay but not great fully zipped. I wonder if any cross-zip feels great fully zipped. Will see how that feels when I get my Rugged Rider.

Maybe chasing the Fine Creek market.
I think it's just an oversight / lack of experience or playing it safe - not many folks would complain about a cuff that is too wide, but quite a few would if it was too narrow.
Also if you consider these to be more fashion oriented then a zip cuff that doesn't seal up tight is rather fine. But from the utility point of view it's a very poor design/pattern choice.

Got my Sentinel in black tea core.
Holy shit that's shiny. Looks awesome overall and seems to fit you rather well, but looks way too long in the body for that pair of extra high waist pants. Almost like a short coat.
I see you also have the bottom hem cinched which is not a very good look in my opinion due to the folding.
And the cuff problem is also clearly there, despite your massive paws. Damn.

May be a bad choice to cinch it down. I cheaped out and went with standard sizing since it had the side adjusters. I have a pretty big shoulder to wasit drop so I'm actually pretty happy with the fit considering I didn't go custom. You are correct that the wrist is a little big. I don't ride so it's not a big deal to me but it is definitely not zipping down tight on my wrist like my Vansons do.

I'm joking but I don't think a general market crowd would expect a zipped cuff to be wide; people understand the purpose of zippers and zippered cuffs are pretty common in mainstream clothing like Barbour International jackets (and their clones). It's a mistake but can be fixed.

I specified the cuff width open and closed for my order so I have hope that my jacket won't have this issue. But it's a shame to see stock jackets coming out with such cuffs. Really takes away from the jacket in my opinion.

Overall jacket looks fine.
Tbh, those cuffs are a bit wide, but usually that's the look on work-style jackets that this was inspired by.
But agree adding the zipper to them really has no value.

And maybe it's just me, I find the angle/placement of the handwarmers to be odd compared to mine. Usual I see handwarmers with this kinda placement on hoodies.

Hem doesn't line up zipped. Kind of a miss:

At the end of the day it's a budget brand making high quality stuff; she's going to be finding her footing through these oversights. I get the sense she does note them and fix things accordingly instead of being defensive.

I do find it amusing how I brought RW to TFL and caused it to blow up, but I haven't bought one myself. This isn't remotely a knock against Leilah's designs though. I realized early last year that I'm basically at saturation for leather jackets and I really don't need anymore after the Johnson. Frankly I should sell the rest except one of my Perfectos.

The issue isn't wide vs narrow; it's the symbolic zipper. I have the opposite problem on my Field jacket where the cuff is snug but there's an extra (purely visual) button for additional cinching.

Both angles have precedents in leather jackets. It's a design/ergonomics thing. Schott used the more diagonal angle on older Perfectos and a straighter/steeper angle on modern ones (except those that are throwbacks to the retro design). The straighter design is easier to use as a handwarmer but I don't like it visually, so I usually go for the diagonal models.

This part is actually traditional for leather jackets.

If the cuffs didn't have zippers then the width would be fine. But in this case the zippers are purely aesthetic / an afterthought.
I've seen too many hand warmer pocket placement variations to even have an opinion on what would be considered weird haha.
The hem not lining up is also way too common for me to even notice, seems very minor. But on straight zip jackets it should be much easier to line up - on cross zips it's almost a no-go.

I didn't mean to imply it's a bad jacket or that these are deal breakers considering the price point.
Like I mentioned, I agree adding the zippers doesn't do a thing and seems unnecessary - guess the way I phrased it didn't make it clear.
