Beautiful jacket. Length is great. Love the no gusset back. And the hide is killer. Not enough cordovan FQHH on the Lounge. Wear it in the best of health and pray for cold weather.

I really like the cordovan color. By the way: I often heard that the leather will bleed, when the jacket is new.
Do you have any experience with that?

Well, I've been wearing it around the house mostly, with the exception of a short trip to northern California where it was cool enough to wear a leather jacket, and I haven't had any bleeding yet. The jacket is still really new though, and I haven't really gotten to wear it yet.

That was a smart move. The only little change I wish I could make to my 50's HDB. With a heavy cotton or canvas shirt on in the winter, the drill sleeves are a b*tch to get arms through. Jansolo told me to do it and I forgot...

Hello Scott,
I just ordered a 30's HB and I went with the Cotton-Drill lining. Should the sleeves have the Drill lining and the Sateen over them, or just the Sateen lining alone?
Thanks - Paul

Well, the drill is a little challenging to me. I'd have done one or the other - no experience myself with double linings. And the 30's design being slimmer, I'd say get the shiny stuff. Maybe others have opinions on the double-lining. I think Jansolo recommended that to me once. I def should have got it in the sleeves...

Thank you Butte,
Being a slim-fit, I think I'll take your advice and go for the Sateen(Satin?) sleeve lining!

This is exactly how I like my sleeves to fit. Right to the base of your 1st metacarpal (the thumb) on your right hand. Most of what people post when they wear an Aero, I think are too long. If the sleeves are any longer than this when I wear a jacket like this, it constantly annoys me.

Sleeve fit has become interesting in recent days, hasn't it? It's very much the fashion to wear long sleeves that go way past one's wrist. I wonder when this started to become the norm and why. I like a slightly longer sleeve myself but many sleeves here seem overly long to me, especially when coupled with jackets that look too short in the body. You get that funny looking monkey arms appearance.

Wow, that jacket is a beauty. Arm length looks absolutely fine and the main thing is that you feel good with that length, which you obviously do. I like mine jackets with longer arms but not because I believe it looks better or is more correct, it's just what feels good to me. These pics make me want a long half-belt, which I'd previously sort of scratched off my 'list'. You wear it well.

Paul - Scott is right on about the satin sleeves. I've got drill throughout and it's the only thing I'd change on my LHB. Frank

This jacket is overall very slim fitting, and the sleeves were slimmed down as well. The sateen (or is it satin?) sleeves really do help me throw the jacket on rather quickly, or slide it right off my arms if I want. I highly recommend getting it, plus it looks really nice. I seem to remember Amanda saying that the sateen alone wouldn't be possible because it's not strong enough to hold up to the leather, so the sleeves need to first be lined with cotton drill and then sateen over it.

I've put in for my own LHB, influenced by your good taste, Seawolf, really liked it. I went for a brown FQHH with the slimmer Japanese configuration, but I've kept the bi-wing back - I liked the detail - and added an inch on to the bottom. I've also stuck with the storm cuffs, just for warmth's sake, and I'm going to add a detachable mouton collar for a bit of extra insulation. Hope your jacket is wearing as well as it looks here!

Look at Butte's LHB with mouton collar that he wore in Scotland in the wind and rain after he P/U'd the jacket at Aero. Butte and I are both lamenting triple digit heat, Butte in LA and me in TX. Butte, if you see my latest post, be sure to show pics of your LHB.

I live in Glasgow, and my job requires me to occasionally stand around for hours in the cold - it's the wind chill factor that's a killer - so the collar won't go amiss. I'm hoping the addition of moleskin to the pockets will help too.
I made the initial mistake of thinking that the mouton collar was a permanent feature, but I saw a LHB at the factory that Will was preparing to add a detachable one to, and the other collars that I've seen on Fedora Lounge, have persuaded me to go for it now rather than later (the LHB belonged to somebody from Japan, so it must have been quite an urgent request!).
The one thing I think that will be different from Seawolf's is that I've gone for a little bit longer at the bottom, so it covers my ass rather than sit mid-way. My legs are longer in proportion to the rest of me, I'm a 30" waist, but have 32" legs, so it shouldn't make me look 'top heavy' - the sleeves will be set long, but should shorten in time.
It's all a bit like plastic surgery really, you have to look at it and think "how is this going turn out in a year or two?" and plan for that.
