A conclusion to my Aero B3 problem a few weeks ago - arrived today, fits exactly how I want it, feels great, looks pretty sharp (well, I think so haha), and im really pleased with it. I dont know if anyone will remember but the one they sent me a few weeks ago was to short, and way to wide at the bottom. This is dark seal as opposed to the originals redskin (a bit too flashy for me in retrospect) a couple of inches longer as Im pretty tall (my pet hate is too short jackets, so as inauthnetic as this might be it suits me great), and also fits much much better round the waist. Many many thanks to Denny at Aero for his help and patience with this, and also for getting the remake jacket out to me, as promised, before Xmas. I would not hesitate to get anything from Aero, theyve been extremely helpful right down the line. Enough waffle, heres a couple of fit pics -

I think I prefer the seal as well. A more subdued look. Another good one from Aero. The sleeves will wrinkle up as the jacket breaks in and be about 1/2" shorter—right where I like them.

What's your favourite guitar in your collection?

We should start a band eh?

Mine is a '63 Silvertone Jupiter, but it's a wall-hanger for now...needs the fingerboard re-set unfortunately.

oh, and Yeah beautiful Jacket btw.

Glad it worked out for you. Color combo does look really nice. Regarding length i see two sides to the coin. Longer is warmer. I think shorter looks better. Asthetically @trailsallday has the cut i prefer. Trade offs.

Winning on all fronts. Glad you went for a remake.

What are those Metallic Surfaced Guitars? They look like EGC guitars like Buzz from the Melvins or Cliff and Aaron use in ISIS. wow, I can tell the neck on that one is shaped with no taper all the way up the fret board I bet that's awesome to play!

I'd also like to recommend getting a scarf or wear a shirt with a collar, both you guys!

And Jeans? haha, I guess...they look good but Just wait until the Temperature lowers down, and believe me, there will be a little Shrinkage...and I'm not talking about the Jacket.

Well I digress..A scarf is a "Must"...unless you really want a nice greazy neck ring on your nice B-3 Jacket in a few years...trust me with this, you need a scarf, they're not expensive...unlike your Jacket, and it will save the collar and help the shoulders and keep the jacket up nice around the waist and fill it out so you can pop the collar up on a cold day. Those B-3 Jackets are more than Just a fashion statement, you'll soon see you have a true best friend in your faithful Bomber Jacket, that will always be there for you when you leave home.

The fleece will eventually pack down a little and dull up and gradually age with a bit more dull appearance, appreciate that more than anything else!

...Expect it should turn slightly yellow, like the binding on a Les paul in a smokers house...look forward to that, if it goes like a honey gold-yellow tinge, then you know it's a really good batch of Sheepskin, otherwise it turns a dull off-white, then you know it's not authentically made.

As for length, I like short, I like long, each for their own advantages..but I like long, Just a little more. By "long" I don't mean hanging off your butt of course.

Hey there - Yeah they are EGCs and a Travis Bean also, I’ve got a few aluminium neck/body guitars - really love the sound of them and they play so effortlessly.

edit - quick question if anyone can help - are these things ok to wear in the rain - I hope so, the UK is characteristically very wet at the moment?

They're fine to wear in the rain, it might shrink if you were caught in a biblical deluge but otherwise it's best to wear them like you don't care, while not thinking about how much they cost :( The problem is that shearling takes about three days to dry so you'll probably prefer to wear something else.

If you plan to wear a B-3 in a torrential downpour, I wouldn't plan on it no.

a Light drizzle from time to time isn't going to hurt it no, it's pretty rugged material.

Rain isn't going to hurt it..But Maybe you get really soaked.

Unless you absolutely saturate the Leather with Dubbin or mink oil with some silicone in it...preparing for the worst... even then it's very porous grain and will soak up water like a sponge and change the PH of the leather Just a little over a long time (which just happens on it's own anyway)..like if you soaked it completely it might stiffen up a little and break back in eventually over a time, but even then I wouldn't want to put Dubbin or mink oil on the Jacket when it's that new, let it break in for about 7 years first.

There was a short clip of "Jack Sprat" I caught on YT. He is a Second world war Air crew man in his 90's showing and telling his A-2 Jacket. He was asked if he'd ever put some oil on the Jacket and he basically said No, He's never going to, and plans to leave it as-is, just kept it like the day he got it, I sorta get where he's coming from, but only a man with serious balls is that brave and fearless. haha.

I ride a motorcycle with a sheepskin Jacket and I go off-road through the swamps with it and mud, I've never washed it, and it's been soaked a few times and it's Just happy, splattered with Gravel and mud..Lying around next to my Boots out in the garage, it seems to clean itself naturally and has broken in and still soft and pliable...I can say from experience The B-3 when soaked through is like wool so it's going to feel very heavy and probably you'll catch a cold if you get caught out there in the downpour, it's definitely not good for it to be drenching wet that is for sure.

I should say it's best to keep it out of the rain with an umbrella if possible if you Just have to wear it and weather be damned.

Anyway yeah!!! EGC guitars man! I gotta hand it to you for having excellent taste in clothing and instruments! right on.
