The top one is probably knitted wool, though could be standard cotton. That shape was fairly common for boys ties (my junior school had ties that shape, albeit in modern poly)

Could be knitted silk as well. Some of the are plain old silk/cotton/wool neckties. Still very common in this day and age to be honest...

The "modern" ones still look a bit off, which I've noticed in alot of photos. Are they cut differently nowadays?
