My unreleased gangster film appearance.

In February of 2010, I appeared in a docudrama called "The Sugar Wars," about the founding of the Cleveland mob during the early years of Prohibition. I played founder Joseph "Big Joe" Lonardo, who made a mint locking up access to the corn sugar needed to make bootleg hooch. He was killed by rivals in 1927.
It was low budget - as you can see from the images attached. Desert Wind Films of CA produced it. It was freezing cold, lying around on the floor of an abandoned bar in Cleveland until all hours. Nevermind the mismatched tie and brown Hershey's syrup blood - it was all to be switched to B&W.
As far as I know, it has never been picked up.

Very cool to be able to participate in a vintage docudrama! I went to film school, so I understand the long stretches of waiting and yes, cold, making a movie can be when filming on location.

What did they make the blood out of?

Very cool! Obvious type casting. Reminds me of my extra-ing experience, once 4 years ago, my scene was deleted, and many years ago at the Tennis Center in Flushing Meadow Park. We froze our butts off.
These things can spend a lot of time between shooting and release, so it may eventually see the light of day. You will, of course, let us know, right?

Chocolate syrup blood is what Hitchcock used in the Psycho shower scene; you're in good company. I agree about the waiting; the first time on a film set it's quite a surprise to everyone, I think, just how much sitting around there is compared to actual performance time.

I hope it eventually gets picked up. That last picture is disturbing though..... you're not supposed to be a good looking corpse

On a whim, I decided to be an extra in the movie Iron Jawed Angels since they were filming in Richmond, VA and they later offered me a speaking part, but because they kept us out in the cold rain for ten hours (and starved us by running out of food), I ended up with pneumonia and couldn't do it. They called again when I was well, but I wouldn't do it. I realized after being treated like cattle, it wasn't the life for me. I have a lot of respect for actors now though.

Now that they've been shown, I have to say I'd really like to see that film completed. I'm not familiar with that story at all.
