Hello everybody,
here are some pics of my veg tanned horsebutt wallet after 4 months of everyday (front pocket) wear. As you can see the leather has darkened a wee bit and it has developed a great amount of typical HH grain. I've given the entire wallet a thin coat of Barbour's wax to make the panels a little more flexible. When it arrived it was incredibly stiff due to the veg tanning and the super thick and dense HH.
The wallet ages very nicely, and the clear powder coating on the concho and the heavy duty stitching don't show ANY signs of wear. This wallet is truly made to last a lifetime. I don't see any differences in quality between the ridiculously expensive RedMoon range and S. Willis' products (70 Dollars shipped/Summer '10)). In fact I prefer the slightly mottled, hand dyed finish over the industrial finish on RedMoon wallets.
What do you think?
