My Robin Hood

I got this hat a way back and it was fairly crushed. So a month ago i stumbled across this forum and it re sparked my hat interest. I found out how to properly re- bash my hat and made it pretty again. However i would still like to know a little about it, and where it comes from.

It was made by Dunn and Co. and is labeled the "Robin Hood"

Dunn & Co. were a chain in British Gentleman's Outfitters. Not sure if they are still going. There was one in Cheltenham where I live but I think it vanished a few years ago.

Most of their stuff was decent quality off the peg stuff, lots of tweed and the like. Not fantastic but decently made. I've bought several flat caps there over the years.

The staff always called you Sir! (Ooh, suits you sir! British joke!)

i have a couple of their felt trilbies as well as one surviving flat cap. Not sure when yours dates from though. I seem to remember ones like that 30-40 years ago.

well they've all closed down, which is a shame because i could have just rang and asked them when they made the style. I found out that they were a store for the 'old gents' so the hats made were styled to 20years or so prior. So that fits with what he said. I seem to remember finding a guy who worked there in a forum somewhere. I might email him.
