My other new Aero

Here's the other leather I snagged on my recent trip to Gala.

A lovely 38-1711P A2, in a leather that has to be touched to really appreciate it. This stuff is just velvety soft, whilst still being very substantial hide. It is described as Jerky Russet Steer.

Ken said he currently only had enough hide for one more jacket. I hope he gets some more soon - an A1 would be astounding in this stuff.

Ken has an original A2 in the showroom that is not a million miles from this.....

Too tight/short for many folks, but for me, the perfect "wartime" cut (yes, I know there were ALL fittings in WW2, but as I said "for me";)).

Here's the only bit that I have HWTed, the collar. The rest is just SO soft and drapy, I don't want to do anything to it. HWT would harden it some.

And finally, a little close up of the hide.....

you lucky man. if i lived within driving distance of Aero, i would be perpetually broke.

but with a mighty fine wardrobe!

In 2015 (at 6 months per jacket, that is only 4 jackets away!) the railway line from Edinburgh to Galashiels is reopening. So if you can get yourself to Edinburgh (well worth a visit, just for the pubs!), you will be able to get a train to within fives minutes walk of the hallowed hall of leather artisans that is Aero!:D;)

Me too! It'd be like an alcoholic living next door to a liquor store.:p
Just one more... ;). Looks nice MM. I have an older USWings "A-2“ in a similar steer and it's very heavy, but soft as you say. My go to jacket if I don't want to hose a better one - but that Aero is much nicer than mine!

why uncool?
thought it was relevant to show a jacket in the same leather meaning to underline that this kind of leather is in fashion lately (it seems) and thus show everyone that majormajor made a very nice choice (they are becoming very popular)

to avoid any misunderstandings that jacket is not made by BK, so no advertising and no need for new thread
just posted it here for the sake of discussion

It's the guy's Aero thread. Why confuse it? I would also think it would have been best to explain why you posted that as BK have been talking about civi jackets coming. Just not good form IMHO.

Would have if knew that it someone would be offended. Just posted it for information only.
I hope this clarifies it and sorry for any confusion.

majormajor posted A-2 and this is G-1. The BK civilian jackets are a different story (that deserves another thread maybe).

Can we see the tag in that jacket? Who makes it?

Now we're hijacking major's thread. (sorry major) I will try to be brief.
The question is not who makes it but whom it's made for. These photos along with others are sent to us by a factory who is trying to sell to us this leather as well as finished jackets. We say no to both because a) we import leathers only from Italy b) they cannot make the level of detail we need.

considering i'm within striking distance of a free, international flight ticket with my star alliance miles, edinburgh and galashiels is very, VERY tempting.
